Research Activities:

Infection and immunity:
- responses of macrophages to infection by mycobacteria
- innate immunity and bacterial pathogens

Mechanisms and regulation of apoptosis and other death processes in mammalian cells:
- role of mitochondria in apoptotic signalling
- stress responses in cancer cells, including neuroblastoma
- neuronal injury and cell death

Techniques/Expertise:

Molecular biology including gene expression, protein manipulation, protein targeting
Cell biology including confocal imaging, flow cytometry, use of fluorescently labelled cells

Collaborations:
