Dr Danielle SmithMIIN MemberARC Centre of Excellence in Structural and Functional Microbial Genomics Research Activities:My research is focused on the interactions between host and pathogen. Primarily I explore the relationship of Mycobacterium ulcerans and mycolactone with the host, but I also collaborate with projects investigating M. smegmatis, M. avium, Corynebacterium glutamicum, Berkholderia pseudomallei, Pasteurella multocida, Staphylococcus aureus and Clostridium spp. host-pathogen interactions. Techniques/Expertise:My background is in immunology but I also have significant expertise in cell death signalling. Collaborations:My work is conducted in association with various members and affiliates of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Structural and Functional Microbial Genomics. Lab Group Personnel:I am based in the Monash University Department of Biochemistry.
